I haven't done a cruise yet. Is on my bucket list.
I'm from W.A and have done Gold Coast twice, second time because youngest broke her arm a week before the first trip so was a crappy trip for her.
Gold Coast is excellent and both the missus and I loved it.. However if you have already done it once, don't do it again just for the kids sake.
Have been to Bali about 7 times. Wife loves it, my daughters love it (the shopping gene handed down from wife to daughters.), however I don't care much for Bali. Cheap holiday though. Yes $5000 will do you for 10 days and you will live like kings (and queen).I'll go back again for sure...
HOWEVER with Bali you/your kids will either love it or hate it.. You won't know unless you go and see for yourself. Make sure you visit some of the Bali forums before you go (if you decide to).
I loved Phuket, plenty more things to do there, however once you have done them, there probably is no need to go back again. Great for a first time adventure. An upmarket Bali really, but with more "things" to go to...
Like I said, haven't done a cruise. Kids will probably like it, missus also. You do the maths...
Why not do a cruise from W.A to Bali. Flights from Adelaide to Perth are pretty cheap...
