They've recently removed the importation bans on various foreign grown fruit and vegetables. Is it coincidental or purely in preparation of offsetting the impending spike in inflation caused by the carbon tax being slapped onto the locally grown produce? Either way, local growers are doomed unless consumers remain vigilant - I believe they will. However, I suspect retailers will find a loophole in the labelling laws to confuse consumers even more so.
