I am a huge holder of WHC coal shares and have believed for sometime that Tinkler would come up with the goods and weave his usual magic and make the takeover happen. However news that he is trying to flog off his racing empire is very worrying and suggests that he is facing a severe cash shortage, not only to make the bid happen, but prehaps over his entire fortune. Is he desparate to make the bid happen to hold off on margin calls if the whitehaven stocks plummets, if the bid falls over. What does everyone else think. I dont however believe that he has anywhere near the amounts of loans against his whitehaven stock that has been suggested by some market observers.
