Ok just got a reply!

"Thank you for raising this matter to our attention. Our apologies for the late response. Due to the slow upload speed we are currently experiencing on the latest version of the app, it is possible that sending out emails is affected too. But there are other factors that we should consider as well, like checking if the email can be sent if thru a browser or using a different Email App. If this does not work for you, please let me know so I can add the result to the report I have created for this and for our development team to advise if this issue will be resolved on the upcoming version of the app."


I just did another test but with browser gmail rather than outlook app, still takes ages to send the photos through but it goes through at least. Looks like they have admitted that uploads are problematic which is something I have pointed out here and to them as well.
