I call to China all the time. Just use my normal Vodafone plan, never run out credit, I am no a $65 dollar plan BTW. Also, when I am at home, I just use Wechat or Skype to make free call.
Also, many of my friend who is migrant or international student who has regular needs to make international call are doing petty much the same thing.
So that why I dont understand who will buy credit and what to know how big of a market is there
