    Maaze,
This is so distressing words can never ,never express or explain this destruction of mankind's civilisation.
There is nothing, nothing more sordid other than the murderous, sadistic, barbaric, killing of children, women and men, defenceless babies or the very old who lives are taken in the most horrific manner in the name of Extreme Islam.

Theses artefacts, manual scriptures of recorded history and statues and structures were carved by a civilisation that dates back more than 9,000 years.Human hands sculptured these works out of stone more than 9,000 years ago , 1000's and 1,000's of hours to carve so as to leave a legacy for us today about human civilisation. To think they survived 9,000 years in the natural environment, left untouched by all that followed, respected despite 100's of wars over all those millennia. Now today with have these "throwbacks" , brain dead cavemen with psychotic defective ideology doing this to mankind.

It was like what the Taliban did in destroying the Buddha statues of Bayiman or the Islamic's did in Mali burning 100's of texts that were treasured, guarded and preserved for thousands of years.

This very short BBC video depicts; http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-31760656

Then we have these supports of Extremists ,Posters immediately coming out with their corrupted and lying statements that they were only plaster casts - imitations. What a pathetic and self opinioned offering to a post on this destruction of real unique and never to be replaced history of mankind.

These Posters and we all know the ones I mean, are provocateurs of hatred, supporters of anarchy, defective thinkers that are a poison to OUR society. The fact that they live amongst us in our secular, pluralistic, democratic society scares the absolute (moderated) out of me. Our Western society is our very weakness to this ideology and its strength. Our values for freedom of speech, to protect the minority and politic correctness in not calling a "spade a spade" is their strength. It once served us well with like minded tolerant people in our society. We need to look at adjusting our values in the short term order to deal with this menace, it has already happened with travel, look at what we must now do , the privacy invasion , extra security affecting and costing us dearly in dollar terms but it is for the better of our societies safety.

Privacy freedoms and/or protection we enjoy in a normal western society may need to relaxed in order to "Rat" these hideous "defects of nature" out. They are amongst now, radicalised by their leaders here in our own communities and fighting us already within our boarders.

What was Sydney all about in Sept 2012? You saw the children with signs, kill the Infidel's, behead the unbelievers. You saw the hatred on Australian streets. Did you see the ISIS flags ? No? We were not sensitised to it back then, it was not on the radar but go back and search imagines from Sydney 2012 and you will see them the Black ISIS flag flying openly. Today we know it and what it means to society the murderous, sadistic, barbaric extreme ideology it represents and it is illegal today but it was there on our streets.

Remember last year , the 10 yr old Sydney boy , "typical" Ozzy kid, proudly holding the severed head of a man by the hair. His father would have be in that crowd back in 2012. Did the boy take part of the numerous "blooding" rituals like him whilst there? Beheading men captured by ISIS? How can he re-enter our society again after that. What is his fate now? What of the father ,what sort of human is he ? Do you want him back , standing next to you at the supermarket queue? What about the 1000's him, the same ideas but did actually travel to Syria but are still here ? The Sleepers or Lone Wolfs.....

Back to the destruction of Ancient artefacts', Outcry over Isis destruction of ancient Assyrian site of Nimrud....

UN secretary general Ban Ki-moon called the destruction a war crime and urged political and religious leaders in the region to speak out in condemnation of "these unacceptable attacks".

National Security Council tweeting: "Deeply saddened by incomprehensible destruction of historical, cultural and religious artefacts in Iraq, including recent attacks in Nimrud".

Al-Azhar, Sunni Islam's leading authority, expressed outrage at what it termed "a major crime against the entire world".

Grand ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, Iraq's top Shiite cleric said it demonstrates "their savagery and their barbarism and their hostility to the Iraqi people at weekly prayers in Karbala.

The above words from some Leaders on this does nothing in stopping this scourge to civilisation. It is all related and coming from the same source. We need to collectively (that is multi-cultural Australia) need to "wake-up" and realise there are people that follow an ideology that we can not begin to comprehend, who will continue unabated to be radicalise, their aim is to replace our western society and that is the world our children and their children's are to inherit as their future.
