As much as I respect Islam and Muhammad, I feel you are proclaiming an ideal and not a modern day reality.
Christians might say the same thing but they fail in this regard as well.
Islam is communal prayer and a very vigilant community watching to see that members are active. So like most religions it's between the individual, God and the community.
