"But the mindset of people is changing, and given the world is likely to experience some serious environmental shocks in the future, I expect new world views to gain traction."
Any inkling what form these new world views might take ?
Given that mindsets may occasionally change but emotional beliefs rarely do.
For most people, the hope that this life is not the end of everything and a benevolent God is concerned with what goes on here is a major factor ... especially when something happens to bring them face to face with their mortality.
Most religions and New Age movements have answers or claims about those beliefs as central principles.
That's why they are and have always been widespread and popular.
This despite the obvious fact that even if point 2 is true, it makes no practical difference in the life of people.
Good things happen, shit happens, accidents happen, justice happens injustice happens, the rich get richer, the poor poorer, everything has consequences.
As the old saying goes, in a democracy the iceman delivers ice to everyone. The rich get it in Summer and the poor get it in Winter !
Remember, these beliefs are emotional in nature beyond rationality, so even the rational ideas of a strong mind are not necessarily an answer or acceptable alternative. Look at all the noted scientists, thinkers, philosophists etc that still have sincere religious beliefs.
Perhaps you think Jung's ideas will become more widespread and adopted ?
IMO not likely.
