One could take an opposite view of course ,and say that the Arabians copied the customs of the aborigines,which were subsequently officially adopted by Islam. "...hundreds of mosques..." in central Australia?As I understand it there were no more Afghans brought into the country than was necessary to look after a few camels.If each of them built his own mosque it surely wouldn't amount to hundreds. One can see the motivation behind the sheik's claim.Islam maintains that an Islamic country never ceases to be Islamic even if subsequently dominated by non-muslims.The groundwork is being laid by fanatical mainstream Islam on the whole of Australia.
