During the good, relatively safe times, noone cares much about how anti-establishment these news institutions are.
When things start to get serious, you cannot have a major news organization like the BBC being basically pro-terrorist in their reporting by wanting to be politically correct in their references.
Sometimes the reporting of and the terminology used for the news is too important to be left to some looney-left-wing hack who has found a quiet refuge there during the quiet times.
