Note that some of what Moon suggests is part of what China has implemented to control its muslim population. China doesn't appear to trust the moderate versus extremist argument. They are all extremists until proven otherwise. It's a bit like teaching small children that all snakes are poisonous.
They have banned prayer in mosques, beards, religious material on phones, banned the face veil.
If you advocate holding our systems to account then that must include immigration. Why did we let in the Afghani boy who stabbed two police officers, why didn't we deport the sunni Iranian convert Sydney cafe terrorist, how do we monitor all muslims to detect who has been converted from a moderate to a "lone wolf".
Lets be honest, the "lone wolf" tag that has found favor with certain sectors of the press actually suggests that every single muslim is a potential terrorist.
The recent bombing in Turkey by a woman in a tent reinforces the view that the tent is very good at covering up suicide vests. Why not just ban it now to stop a bomber killing Australians.
The French killers had been to Syria. Abbott wanted to ban all travel to Syria and Iraq but Labor rejected this. Labor has opened the door to "lone wolfs" going to Syria or Iraq and coming back to Australia as a trained killers. This needs to be looked at.
At the very least we could ban all muslim males between 14 and 50 traveling to certain countries.
