Australian unions are not pricing anybody out of the world economy. These companies that people work for are making huge profits and it is just what corporations do they keep banging on because they want more profit and more profit because the board members want their production bonuses, their 20million a year is linked to the profit. Your kidding aren't you if you think that corporations and miners will give people a fair wage. Go to Mexico or the Phillipines or India and see what these corporations pay their workers and why because their is no union.
You just have to be kidding. Look at some of the miners bringing over foreign workers and paying them half the wage and that is today. You expect the corporations will give you a fair days pay, they wont at all. They are all still here mate digging up our ore and making 100's of billions off it. I see that cafe's and restaurants are doing very well despite them all crying poor. We probably need a few less of them and the whole industry would be better off. Were I live their are so many of them that they cut each others profit to nothing and it has nothing to do with wages really.
The only thing keeping wages from being at slave labour levels is the Unions. Abbott wants to slash wages and lower the basic wage. That is what you will get if the Unions lose their power. You will get the U.S. version, but that's probably what Abbott and Hockey want given they are Americanising every thing else in Australia.
