The problem with Israel is that it is run as a religious state along sectarian lines which is why the muslims there (aka known as Pallestinians) want there own state. Pallestinians have lived in the area for thousands of years - some of which became Jews along with Abraham, his followers, descendants and others from the general area. The Jews were a minority in the 'good old days' (don't read that as being anti semetic - just a phrase - I am generally anti religion, full stop).
