Most of the retired US Military Officers that I listen to say that if an Aircraft Carrier is sunk, there's huge problem in that they don't have sufficient amphibious life raft styled equipment (I can't think of their correct name) to save more than approximately 2,800 of the 5,000 or so personnel on an Aircraft Carrier.
The emotional effect on American Citizens that are close to 90% highly opposed to the US going to war with Iran would bring the United States close to Civil War............. or better still a Hunt Down of the Ruling Class.
