At this juncture I think it's no longer about how much damage was done. Iran is not Syria ca. 2019. The Iranians have been categorical. If the US joins Israel's war, they will retaliate as they see fit.
Trump just opened Pandoras Box and will now have to deal with the consequences. This was the beginning, not a quick drive by act of theater.
