The answer is not more tit for tat killings.
The answer is a separate country for the Palestinians
as per the Oslo accord.
To concentrate 2.8 million Palestinians in a mega camp
called Gaza and to crib Palestinian lands by Orthodox
Jews in the West Bank will simply exacerbate the problem;
not provide an enduring solution.
This bout of violence simply traumatises the Palistinian children and youth
which simply turbocharged the probability of further violence going further.
That was so in Northern Ireland until the Good Friday Agreement brokered by
Clinton formulated a plan for the eventual re-unification of Ireland after
840 years of British/Norman occupation.
IMO the US should broker a similar deal in the M/E to give the Palestinians
a secure homeland where they can get on with their lives instead of living
in what is a concentration camps under an Israeli Police State.
The current Palestinian Conflict is simply a continuation of an
Israeli civil war which has raged since 1948 when the Arab clearances
commenced . An ex neighbour (British) had been in the Palestine police
from 1945 to 1949 and he said that even then there were atrocities being committed
by both sides ......the Israelis displacing the Palestinians by force and
the Palestinians retaliating.
The "new settlements " are simply a continuation of that.
IMO the UN in conjunction with the US should lead the way
to :
(a) form a separate Palestinian State as per the Oslo Agreement
(b) declare all Palestinians as Israeli citizens in the interim
. ( IMO its against the UN principles for any displaced group
of peoples to be stateless)
