"The Palestinian leadership could learn from Israel's early acceptance of less-than-was-wanted, in the pragmatic belief that less was better than nothing. Will "they" give up? Not as long as they continue enjoying the fruits ($s and Euros) of actively remaining the "victims" "
So you would contend that the war on the ordinary people will sway the Palestinian leadership, or the ordinary people themselves?

''The Palestinian leadership'' , if they didn't exist as they are, Israel's leadership would have to invent them.
Otherwise the competition for victimhood by both sides, would have to cease.
So until the end of time, or more realistically, until Israel loses its friends and protectors[ and they only need to lose them for a very short period of time] and Masada is relived, the lunacy continues.
That is the end game as it stands, nothing you have said suggests otherwise.
A probable sad end for what was conceived with the noblest of intentions.
