Netanyahu desire to rid both Gaza and the West Bank of Palestinians was his failing.
He had the opportunity to gain the support of the West Bank Palestinian Authority who opposed Hamas rule in Gaza. All he managed to do, was to increase support for Hamas in the West Bank.
Wouldn’t surprise me if that was his ultimate aim!
