Australia's diplomatic position today in support of Israel
An analysis of Albanese's statement below:
We stand with Israel, not thePalestinians - we're therefore by definition on Israel's 'side'.
We go further, we not only stand withIsrael - we condemn the other side.
We support Israel in its right to retaliate against the other side, inthis statement (different from yesterday) without qualification, ie withoutcalling for restraint.
Given all that I think it's quite a strong andunequivocal diplomatic statement.
