There are many Muslims in Australia and some women choose to wear their religious clothing - like the burka - yet there are some who object to it. The women choose to wear it, not forced - one would think if they objected to such in their countries they came from then they would shun from wearing such here. I have seen people in Sydney displaying their Jewish wear and no one objects - or to other cultures wearing turbans or traditional clothing and no one objects. It's called multiculturalism and inclusion.
As for gays, biblically such acts are condemned.
I had a bike in a bike bay left unattended and unrestrained. Some disrespectful person stole it - obviously needing it more. Seen videos in Iran where bikes were left the same way near a shopping centre but when the owner(s) came out after leaving them, the bikes were as they were left, untouched.
Respectful people leave other's stuff alone - could be due to punitive measures but that's fine by me as I would know my stuff is secure Iran in the main has a respectful population. The police here chastised me for not locking up my bike - the theft was my fault. That's what I would call a total cop out.
But again, the laws of Iran are the laws for their people to deal with - the French had a guillotine with heads cut off rolling into buckets - where were the critics? Americans had the electric chair. Guess there is/was support for such punitive measures. There was also support and enthusiasm at the dropping of atomic bombs - the start of deterrent warfare.
