I doubt that Putin "will get involved" he's got enough on his plate with Ukraine and all the efforts he's made to bolster the Russian economy.
he may send them missiles and maybe even a "tactical" nuke or two..... but he is unlikely to get involved. he's already short of people to make his own war.
