USA already has one war on their hands (Ukraine). That it's slowly losing. That minerals deal won't be worth much if most of the minerals end up in the Russian hands, right? Can USA actually pull another war with a country like Iran that has demonstrated it's will and capability to hit US assets directly (unlike Russia)? Does USA have enough production capabilities to cover two wars effectively? No.
A war with Iran is a whole different beast. USA has lots of assets in the area. Including military assets. People that believed Trumps "I'm gna end all wars" promise might get just a little bit upset once American flag-wrapped coffins start landing in airports all over US. Considering the recent protests in US, it's obvious that things aren't quite stable inside US politically.
I'd say another war is not what US wants. I don't have any doubts that hostilities against Iran may renew after the whole Ukrainian situation is resolved.
