I’ve worked out - maybe belatedly - that most people become so rigidly attached to anti Israel views they are incapable of reason. I am sure they’d accuse me of the same but that’s because they wouldn’t see how much time I spend in doubt. But when I’m there I go and check and recheck because I know how hard it is to trust anything in war.
for some it’s because their understanding of history is distorted, some it’s about hatred of the US and some it’s blind antisemitism dressed up as something else
the worst are, I think, those I’d classify as blindly left wing. I had always seen myself closer to that camp but I’ve never been hugely attached to any particular political perspective. But the Marxists and obstinately left wing are another thing. Sort of stupid because they are so attached to dogma. Activist for tte save of it and looking for a cause to give their sill little lives a purpose
the best example of their stupidity is emerging from Egypt. Hard not to gasp and laugh about their sheer ignorance while they get a lesson in middle eastern politics that’s rather different from that they expected
