I would prefer to call it “constructively spinning the narrative in their favour” but it is just something that we see across all media platforms and from all countries (or media barons).
I believe it has been the preferred approach since after the US were in vietnam.
Certainly for strategic reasons as well as being able to make sure that the individual countries can reduce the negative press on their own population.
