Didn't you hear GZ, the elected democratic head of Venezuela is a dictator and represses his people (where have I heard that line used before ..... insert every US opponent of their hegemony ... rather tiring isn't)... damn him and his People's Assemblies when we can have our cable of oligarchs ruling instead, like in Russia before Putin.
Sadly the US military and economic empire is at the stage where it is now like the Roman empire of old where it needs to consume new resources and market or it internally collapses.... most of those remaining markets with the most valuable resources is the now closed off Russia, Iran, Afghanistan and Venezuela. We talk about the petro dollar which although is an important aspect is only part of the dollar issue as they require chaos to ensure people stash US dollars and treasuries as a valuable commodity for the US to keep printing. So all this war talk keeps the music playing a little while longer.
When Trump say's poor Venezuela with its mighty military is a 'National threat' to the US earlier in the year you know that military intervention talk is an eventuality... the issue is that they want the resources but don't want to be stuck with another Ukraine or Afghanistan where it is a festering drain on their resources and the assets they acquired don't compensate the heavy costs.
Well if we don't go to war we can let them default and take their gold..... we will add it to our Ukrainian, Libyan and German collection.
