State Comptroller Matanyahu Engelman said that negotiations with the IDF over conducting a probe into the failures of October 7 have failed, and that he will request that the High Court lift the injunction it placed on the probe in June. Engelman said that claims made by the IDF, Shin Bet, and the attorney general that conducting a probe during wartime undermines national security and distracts commanders "indicate a lack of understanding of the importance and role of the probe."
