Israel has been committing numerous atrocities for many, many years. You seriously don't think that they weren't fully aware of this coming incursion. They wanted this so that what is going on now can be fully justified, and you've swallowed their disinformation hook line and sinker. The hostages were in Israelis' eyes, just collateral damage for the ongoing land grab, what they call corridors. They will carry on infinitum because they can and don't give a shit about the genocide being committed.
