Because "they" are savage, murderous, rapist, death loving, lunatic Jihadi mother f$ckers. And any rational sovereign entity would do the same to protect her citizens and visitors - well those that are not like Hamas.
Had they built a haven on the coast for the Gazans rather than spread their evil and squander billions on terror they would have been free and the world would have been flocking to the beaches to bask in the glory.
