I'm not at all surprised about Israels response. It was on the cards the day Bibi came back into office and started his deliberate provocation.
He then went on to leave the border open and un defended despite knowing he had stirred a hornets nest with his provocateurs entering the temple, and kidnapping and murdering Palestinians en masse with near daily raids into the west bank.
Israel is not at war with Hamas, they are committing genocide of the Palestinian people.
