There was no first German invasion. Rather in 1939 the Soviets invaded and imposed Communism which banned religion and they were definitely not welcomed by the Jews. In 1941 the Germans invaded and expelled the Soviets and in collaboration with local Lithuanians murdered 90% of Lithuanian Jewry which is the highest percentage destruction in all of the European countries.
