The Palestinian Islamic Jihad's (PIJ) al-Quds Brigades said that its fighters ambushed an Israeli force on Monday dawn, in the town of Maen to the east of the city of Khan Younis. Several fighters awaited the arrival of an Israeli force to the site where the ambush was planned to take place. Upon arrival, fighters directly targeted the force with anti-personnel shells, thermobaric shells, and assault rifles, killing and injuring its members.

Two Israeli captives were killed and eight others were wounded at the hands of the Israeli air force in Gaza, the al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas Resistance movement, announced on Sunday amid heavy Israeli bombing on the besieged Strip.
"Their conditions are becoming more dangerous in light of the inability to provide them with appropriate treatment. [Israel] bears full responsibility for the lives of those injured in light of their continued bombing," the statement said, regarding the remaining captives.
