On Monday, the Israeli Security Ministry stated that over 4,500 soldiers are being treated in its rehabilitation center. The number, 4,544, is only restricted to present-time treatments, which could mean that previously wounded soldiers have completed treatment and have been discharged, mounting the losses the occupation has seen over the past four months.
The Israeli Security Ministry added that an average of 60 soldiers are being admitted to rehab every day, most of whom are reservists under the age of 30.
The Institute confirmed that 52,571 Israelis were injured and noted that it has disbursed over 5.5 billion shekels (about 1.5 million dollars) to them so far, highlighting the extent of the losses incurred.
(note - but there are about 4 shekels to the dollar - so the figure would be $1.5bn .. not $1.5m)
It is noteworthy that the Israeli Institute did not address Israeli military casualties, mentioning only civilians. Among the 52,571 casualties, 102 sustained serious injuries and 171 sustained moderate ones.
