My opinion is that currently two gigantic waves of social hatred are building; militant atheism and militant Islam. The objective of each wave is the same, to sweep away the Judeo-Christian heritage, political structures and legal structures of the West. In Australia these waves are only partially visible, but in the UK for example they are much more advanced.
An global unholy alliance is forming between the forces of atheism and Islam. We have much to fear from both separately and especially when the work together together to achieve the same goals.
Proponents of the atheist wave, such as Chomsky are not only rational undermines of Israel, they are undermines of the USA, and the West more generally, their moral and religious foundations, history and values.
Proponents of militant Islam such as Iran, do not even attempt to disguise their objective by hiding them under a veil of rationality, they just make shrill, to us outrageous even comical, statements that we discount as eccentricities for local consumption only. Their goal however is clear, they want to wage constant warfare against the West until it is replaced by Islam. Their immediate target is the destruction of Israel and the annihilation of its people.
The fight for the destruction started the day it was formed. The war against Israel is being and will always be fought on many fronts, often by apparently well meaning rationalists, peace activists, NGA's, the UN, left leaning journalists and so on. Without the support of the West Israel will die and when it has been destroyed then West itself will be the target. In a sense Israel can be thought of as being a ravelin of the West
Please take care before distorting history, because in doing so you yourself risk becoming a channel for hatred and anti-Semitism. Please take time to reflect on what you are saying before going to print.
If you doubt what I am saying go to Israel, and see what a modern Western country it is, go to the UK and see what a third world country is it becoming. Don't spout historical distortions just because you have read something and now think you understand. Isreal is an ongoing fight, one that now covers most of the globe and one that may never end,but instead embroil us all in poverty and warfare. Go out and see the world and learn for yourself.
