What many dont appreciate is the islamic doctrine of Dar al-harb. It basically states that once land is governed by Muslims it needs to forever be so. This is why some can never accept Israel because before World War I it was controlled by Islam and they consider it Islamic land. Australia is fine because it's never been Islamic but the land on which Israel sits has.
