Without the US tax payers Israel wouldn't exist, think the Germans even provide money and weapons as part of WW2 reparations.
Israel is important for weapons sales around the world, last thing US desire is for peace to break out and the Israeli/Palestinian issue is important as a Muslim threat to promote fear and defense.
