what is challenging to comprehend is Australia's support for Israel, as though this recent invention of a nation has done much or anything for Australia. Nothing immediately comes to mind.

last week the Mayor of Nagasaki rescinded an invitation to Israel to attend the annual commemoration and peace ceremony, according to NZ-based writer Eugene Doyle in an article in Sunday's Pearls & Irritations weekly, John Menadue's public policy journal.

by way of retaliation, some nations including the US, Australia, Canada, Italy, France and the UK instructed their diplomats not to attend the peace ceremony, Doyle said.

here is how this and other similar decisions by Australia and some other Western countries might be looked at in the future..

"It is likely that in generations to come people will look back on the governments of these Western countries as a sort of moral detritus floating across an ocean of American violence," Doyle wrote.

let's get this straight. The Australian govt is viewed now in some quarters "as a sort of moral detritus floating across an ocean of American violence."

australia stands tall for its support for a widely recognized genocide in Palestine by Israel, or so it believes.

and Israel, has ever done what exactly for Australia?

is it too much to ask the Australian govt to put our national interest first, rather than America's? Looks like it.
