President Barack Obama approved the sale of 5,000-pound bunker-buster bombs to Israel, which wants them for a possible attack on Iran's nuclear installations.

Israeli Defense Minister, Ehud Barak has in recent months carried out command changes on an unprecedented scale in Israel's military and intelligence arms. Commanders who opposed any attack on Iran because of the regional firestorm it would detonate have been dismissed.

"We are concerned that Iran, Syria, and DPRK [North Korea] are using the Arab Bank network to process what may be proliferation-related transactions," read a cable from the U.S. State Department to the U.S. Embassy in Amman.

The warnings provide a rare glimpse into U.S. efforts to stop North Korea from spreading arms and nuclear technology to its enemies.

U.S. officials have said as recently as last month that North Korea is still aggressively establishing a network of front companies through which to secretly sell its weapons and evade sanctions.
