Zach, what do you mean by Zionism ?

I always understood it to be a belief in the right to a Jewish homeland in Israel. This presumably includes the right to self defence.

There is a dispute over the small area of land the subject of settlements, and part of the Golan Heights which Israel took after the Arab world invaded it, but apart from that, Israel is geographically pretty much where it started 70 years ago.

Why is that such a threat, or is it simply that the Muslim Arabs just don't like the idea of Jews in the region ?
