    Yes, you are right with the poker analysis. If you bet when the odds are with you, even if you lose on that hand, then overall by playing the right strategy you have won.

    That been said, most books one reads from successful traders, emphasis stop losses.

    You are saying play the fundamentals only, however you discount the problem of other players having information, which you do not have.
