Effectively a duopoly which they've used to release people out of their money by illegal means, and the reason for the multiple BILLION dollar law suit loss in the USA (one of a few globally in different jurisdictions underway).

I've never seen an example in the history of monopolies or duopolies where they passively sit idle and not resort to some sort of underhanded method to stifle competition. They tend to find collaborators to assist their 'methods'.
