My education and experience with organisational change is that for the organisation to change pressure must be applied, that rarely happens from the people working inside the organisation. The vast majority of people don’t like to change the way they achieve a result, it means they may have to study and learn more, most people like to do what they have always done even though there is a better and faster way to achieve that result. Most innovation in well-established organisations comes from necessity, for if an organisation cannot improve and compete equivalently or better than its competition then it may gradually cease to exist. The external pressure in that case is the competition.
