Like Catholics who believe that a wafer of bread and
a cup of wine is the Body and Blood of Christ, so do
owners of Fiat Currencies believe that a $100 bill is
worth more than the few cents it costs to print.
It's not, but we have to pretend that a $100 bill is
worth $100 or the global economy crashes and
retiree savings vanish. The trouble with gold is
you can't eat it or build any bridges with it.
If fiat currencies are worthless and gold is
pretty but useless, what should we do?
What should we put our faith into?
