    This boat-people issue seems to have no end. Both major parties have virtually identical policies - the only difference being the Libs have the ability to actually do the business and get a result. Good on 'em. They look like reducing boat arrivals from 14000-20000 to maybe 5000.

    Now as a nation let's move on to the real issue - net migration into this country is 250,000 per year! So with 100,000 from natural increase, we are adding a city the size of Newcastle every year. Why the hell are we doing this? It's insane. Again there is bipartisan support for this insane level of population growth.

    Meanwhile, property prices are ridiculously high, habitats are being destroyed, resources are being depleted, native animals decimated and cities are choking with pollution and congestion. Do you really want 6 million people in each of Sydney and Melbourne by 2020?
