VoR, I agree - what is the future? And those still holding from pre-Vietnam duster days (around the 40c mark) have lost that gamble. As you say, there is uncertainty as to how this (now) listed investment company will perform but I agree, those who averaged down and are now in at around 2-5cents have hope. Obviously, hope (in of itself) is not a prudent investment strategy but let's face it, no one backed NEN on an investment thesis - it was purely a trade based on speculation that (as you say) backfired.
With new management at the helm in place, essentially in charge of a debt-free, cash box, a new strategy emerging altho yet announced, there is hope and it wouldn't take much for the stock to move up a few cents e.g. an announcement of an opportunistic acquisition of an earnings accretive business.
