= rumour mill at the time - greater liquidity with release of shares would lead to VBA becoming a takeover target, particularly given price at the time of the announcement well under NTA/share. Of course this was before Henny Penny cried that the sky was falling, the entire financial system was going into complete meltdown.....etc. etc.

So now that's getting out of the way, we're back to takeover speculation, its all roses, bubbly and bounty until the next time Henny Penny makes an appearance and then we start again....

Gotta love capitalism.....where else would you get such opportunities to lose or make a heap of dough in such a short time!
