It must be hard being a racist, page-9

Just a thought guys, but as a casual reader of some of the threads with angles that could be construed as racist (and that is being fairly polite with a couple of the threads) it is hard to take the 'facts' being offered in support of racist sentiments as if the writers were proposing that the world is flat.

I live in an amazingly multi-cultural part of Melbourne. I deliberately moved there with my family from an area that is rapidly becoming a big dollar white enclave (North Carlton). My neighbours range from white professionals to Muslims, Asians etc - you name it, and they all work together to form one of the most welcoming street communities I have ever experienced.

Interestingly I saw the guy who stole my copy of the Fin Review from my front door this morning (white Anglo Saxon), the kids shooting up last night in the park opposite where as white as me also and so was the half wit parking inspector that stuck a parking ticket for parking in a Permit Zone on top of my (valid and almost new) permit two days ago..

I'm sorry but the problems of this country are not caused by non-white immigrants (legal or otherwise) nor will be solved by attacking them.

No, we haven't had a non Anglo Saxon primeminister (probably mores the shame) but no doubt one day we will and SHOULD if that is where the best talent to lead this country from time to time is to be found.

Scratch beneath the skin colour and you will find just another person and as many of them want to contribute to our society as we do.

Alternatively, its back to the flat earth view - and no matter how many imes its repeated it won't do anything but breed hate and devisiveness and lead to just the outcomes many of those who preach it actually don't want. A hostile community for our kids to grow up in.

Cheers all from this (Anglo) seventh generation Aussie.
