I too recall it as being hotter as a child...then in my early 20's we had 40 degrees in August one year...another year it snowed in December.... Melbourne weather used to be a joke....4 seasons in a day...now its settled down....mild weather most of the year...except for a couple of bursts of unusually hot weather, associated with the drought and high winds blowing down from the inland centre...
