On what basis do you think hydrogen vehicles will compete? On a cost and running basis they will never be anywhere near EV, the transportation and distribution is also complex - not saying there aren't challenges with EV.
Shell as an example are closing their hydrogen vehicle infrastructure in the US. Hydrogen is more an industrial play, hard to abate sectors, and the areas where hydrogen is already being used (but with very high emissions). Steel, fertilizer, high heat etc. You can see this is where the conversation is going in places like SA.
Ultimately long term if you have parity pricing on EV, which i think is close, the running costs are so much lower than ICE, especially in places like Australia where population density is low. Then its a question of whether you like your car making a noise, as the tech is advancing very quick. No mention of any green wars!
