Probably the biggest learning I've picked up in the last couple of month's is if you are unsure of short term price movement's buy in tranches and spread the risk. I naively took all of my gold mining positions with the POG over $2000 so have taken a 25% haircut over the last few month's (although I'm still bullish on gold). Moving forward I'll space out my buys when taking a position in a company unless super confident.
Hopefully gold has found it's bottom, even at 1800 these companies are making a fortune.
On a different note I'd like to see SLR utilise it's cash on an acquisition while a lot of the juniors are at supressed prices (don't ask me who though!)
