A lot of resource stocks boomed about 8 years ago, everyone got very excited and mistook cyclical stocks for growth stocks. Plenty of people saying "It's different this tine" a sure sign that there is mispricing and a speculative boom. It's rarely different for long. Many resource stocks were over valued . In fact it was better to maybe have assets than definitely have assets. If you maybe had them then they might be huge and worth a fortune. If you knew what you had it took the gambling out.
